Vedic Time Calculation

by | Feb 6, 2021 | Astronomy, The cosmos

Vedic kālagaņanā does not depend on events like the birth of a person,
coronation of a king or military success

But it depends on the movements of various heavenly bodies in the cosmos
based on astronomical Science (Invented Thousands years ago)

Vedic Time Calculation

Vedic Time Calculation

Kalo gatinivrtti sthiti samdadhati
Sankhayana Aranyaka 7.20

According to Surya Siddhanta time has its virtual and practical divisions
Murta(embodied) & amurta(virtual)
What begins with prana (respiration) is called real & what begins
with truti (atoms) is called unreal…

Vedic Time Calculation

A comparison between Ancient time units and SI units

Paramanu= =16.8µs
2 Paramanu=Anu=33.7µs
3 Anu=Trasarenu=101µs
3 Trasarenu=Truti=304µs
100 Truti=Vedha=30ms
3 Vedha=Lava=91ms
3 Lava=Nimesh=0.27s
3 Nimesh=Kshanas=0.82s
3 Kshanas=Kāṣṭhās=4.1s
15 Kāṣṭhās=Laghu=1 Min

3/n

15 Laghu=Nadika=Danda=15.3 min
2 Danda=Muhurta=30.7 min
7.5 Muhūrta=Yāma=Praharas
8 Yāma=Day
31 Muhūrta=Ahorātram

15 Days=Paksha(Fortnight)
30Ahorātram=Masa(Month)=2Paksha

2 Masa=Ritu
3 Ritu=Ayanam=6 Masa

2 Ayanam = Samvatsara = Year = Ahorātram of Deva (1 Day of Devas)

4/n

360 Ahorātram= 1 Deva Vatsara(Year)

12000 Deva Vatsara = Chaturyuga = Mahayuga

71 Mahayuga = Manvantar
14 Manvantar = Kalpa
2 Kalpa = Brahma Ahorātram(Day)
360 Brahma Ahorātram= Brahma Varsha

Brahma Varsha = 311.04 Trillion Years

Western says they are most advanced ?

You believe in Vedas or not

but you can’t deny that they are the ultimate source of knowledge

See the time calculations here

As per Vedic calculations we are in 1st day of 51st year of Brahma

It equates to 155 trillion year has passed of current Brahma (as per Vedic)

6/n

A day of Brahma = Kalpa = 14 Manvantar

6 Manvantar has passed of current Kalpa

MANVANTAR = 71 Mahayuga

Mahayuga = Sat Yuga (1728000)+Treta Yuga (1296000) + Dwapar Yuga (864000) +
Kali yuga (432000) = 4320000 years

So Manvantar = 306720000 years

6 Manvantar = 1840320000 years

27 Mahayugas have passed in present (7th) Vaivasvata Manvantara

27 Mahayugas = 116640000 years

Current 28th Mahayuga {Sat+Treta+Dwapar+Kali(5112)} = 3893112

Add 6 Manvantar+27 Mahayugas+ Years of current Mahayuga =
1,840,320,000 + 116,640,000 + 3893112 = 1,960,853,112 years

Now rewind and get amazed that we were only calculating years passed in
current Kalpa (Day) of Brahma

50 years of current Brahma has passed now calculate = 50 x 370 Kalpa x 28 Manvantar x
71 Mahayuga x 4320000(each Mahayuga span) =
154,586,880,000,000 years

Now add 50 Brahm Varsha & years passed in current Kalpa

154,586,880,000,000 + 1,960,853,112 = 154,588,840,853,112 solar years

Apprx 155 trillion years

100 Brahm Varsha = Maha Kalpa (Life Span of Brahma) = 311.04 Trillion
years (Biggest unit for time calculations)
